| Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies Size: larger than an oreo cakester/whoopie pie Price: $4.49 for a pack of six Notes: Honestly, it tastes like an average chocolate chip cookie, just slightly crumblier (that apparently is the challenge with non wheat flours, things tend to crumble more easily). But only the most trained pallet would know this was gluten free. Overall: Comparing this with "regular" chocolate chip cookies I wouldn't say there was a huge difference and for my gluten free friends, that means it's GREAT. I tried these with a friend that is totally gluten intolerant and she loved them. Gooey Butter Cookies Size: larger (and taller) than a whoopie pie Price: $4.49 for a pack of six Notes: These were light, airy, soft, and while I wouldn't classify them as "moist" they were certainly not dry. The main tastes are sugar and light cream cheese. Overall: My friend Jessie, who is gluten free (and a fab baker) bought them for herself and has been fighting the rest of us off ever since, these can't be described as "good-for-gluten-free". These are just "good" and could hold their own in any cookie show down. |
