Hal-Raspberry
Price: $10 for a pack of 6
Size: Half of a large marble
Description: Raspberry confiture on top of a balsamic ganache.
Notes: A beautiful dark chocolate truffle filled with a raspberry jelly.
Overall: A familiar classic offering in a bold new world of chocolate choices.
Honey Nut
Price: $10 for a pack of 6
Size: Half of a large marble.
Description: Honey on top of an almond praline base.
Notes: A sweeter offering of real honey and almond crisp compliments the dark chocolate well.
Overall: Honey-Nut is not just for cereal anymore.
Vanilla Macaron
Price: $8 for a pack of 5
Size: Larger than the average macaron, about the size of an Oreo
Description:
Light, chewy, egg white cookies, sandwiching a thin layer of vanilla buttercream. On the sweeter side.
Notes: This is a proper macaron, with a crispy outside and light, chewy, disappear-in-your-mouth inside. Has a pure vanilla flavor and a clean finish. Plus they are house made daily!
Overall: If you've never tried a french macaron, this would be a good place to start.
Ghost Chile
Price: about $1.70 each
Size: About 1 inch squared
Description: Ghost chile gananche
Notes: A very unique and strong flavor dances happily on your tongue...and then makes your throat combust into flames.
Overall: Great flavor, strong heat. Eat with caution, or if you love heat, eat with glee. Or if you're a heat wimp like me, eat with a fire truck near by. But definitely eat.
OliveOil
Price: About $1.75 (prices per box)
Size: About an inch squared.
Description: olive oil ganache, sea salt garnish.
Notes: Very dark, very smooth, soft creamy center, with a subtle olive oil finish playing against the tang of the bitter chocolate.
Overall: A remarkably light as air center in a dark chocolate shell. A mild and simple option.
Abeille
Price: About $1.75 (prices per box)
Size: about 1 inch squared
Description: honey ganache
Notes: Bitter chocolate with a very soft creamy center, that sports hints of honey.
Overall: The honey is very subtle and "quick" on the palette, though you'll be left with a soft chocolate flavor.
Praline
Price: About $1.75 (prices per box)
Size: A little smaller than an inch cubed.
Description: Hazelnut and almond praline.
Notes: A dark chocolate shell encases an almost "mousse" center, highlighted with little sugar crystal crunches and strong hazelnut flavors.
Overall: Possibly the tiniest and most decadent praline you've ever seen.
