Size: About what you'd make at home. Description: Light, almost reminiscent of whipped cream, sweet frosting. The cake was medium dense and semi moist. It had a small amount of filling. And creme brulee sprinkles on top. Notes: Good ratio of cake to frosting. The cake flavor tended to overwhelm the frosting alone. But the bites with the filling were very well balanced. The filling reminded me of Boston cream pie. I would almost describe the cake as spongy, not overly sweet and did not leave my mouth feeling dry. Overall: Subtle flavors make for a light dessert, and the candy sprinkles really made this cake.
Lemon Drop  Price: $2.75 Size: About homemade Description: Light vanilla butter creme frosting with mild lemon hints, and vanilla cake with a small amount of lemon cream filling, not the lemon "gel". Notes: The lemon filling is a tad stronger than the frosting, but still very light and not tart. Clean finish Overall: A nice summery cupcake that isn't too strong. Nice for those who like lemon but don't like puckering.. Vanilla- Vanilla  Price: $2.75 Size: About homemade Description: Vanilla buttercream and Vanilla cake Notes: smooth, not granulated, not overly sweet. Overall: "Plain Jane" lovers unite, a simple homey everyday cupcake designed just for you. Strawberry Daquiri  Price: $2.75 Size: Homemade Description: Vanilla frosting, strawberry glaze over a strawberry cake. Spiked with rum. Notes: Lighter frosting and cake. Very mild flavors all around with a slight finish. Overall: We couldn't taste the rum but if you like strawberry cake, this may be a happy hour for you. Chocolate Caramel  Price: $2.75 Size: Homemade Description: Smokey caramel buttercream meets a chocolate cake. Notes: The cake had a crispness on the outside and was less moist than some others but the light buttercream frosting left a lovely smokey flavor lingering on the palette. Overall: Caramel is king of this cake. |
