The Forest Park Boathouse is THE place to be for sitting outside on a gorgeous day watching people paddle through the lake or trying it yourself. It's also a lovely place to sit around the fire in winter, and they have plenty of indoor seating for the blazing summer too. The location is so great that food being good is almost just a bonus. Hours: Monday-Thursday: 11AM-10PM Friday&Saturday: 11AM-11PM Sunday: 10AM-10PM Boathouse Forest Park 6101 Government Dr St Louis, MO 63110-1347 (314) 367-2224 As of August 2011 they have: Bread Pudding Hank's Cheesecake Apple Crisp Warm Brownie Sundaes, floats, and ice creams | Size: About a 3x3x3 "cube" Price: $4.99 Sauce: Sauce is VERY sweet, thick and heavy, and there is a LOT of it. (like the pudding was swimming in a lake of it) Pudding: It was surprising that it was so very dense without being hard. Moist without being mushy. There were raisins, but a few less than average. Notes: The Counte had a little trouble getting over the presentation as he felt this did not look appetizing at all. The table felt this was way too sweet until we got past the sauce, then we decided the pudding itself wasn't half bad at all. Overall: If you love lots of sweet sauce then order it as is. I’d get it again but I would ask for less sauce or maybe just on the side. |
